Bringing Timber to Life in the Design & Technologies Classroom
22 October 2025
ForestLearning recently partnered with DATTA Vic to deliver a free member webinar showcasing how Design & Technologies teachers can use timber and forestry resources to inspire real-world, hands-on learning in their classrooms.
The session, held on 31 July 2025, explored the wide world of wood — from innovations in timber materials and engineered wood products to free, curriculum-aligned classroom projects developed by ForestLearning.
Presenters Beth Welden and Veronica Tyquin guided teachers through resources such as the Phone Stand Project and Designing for Biodiversity, along with teacher packs, step-by-step production guides, PowerPoint slide decks, student workbooks, ForestVR™ 360° virtual tours and Kahoot quizzes.
Teachers also discovered how to integrate timber sustainably into the design process — linking renewable materials to product design, circular economies, and real-world industry practices.
