ForestLearning Hits the Road in 2025
We’re excited to be heading across the country again in 2025 to connect with you all at some of Australia’s leading education and forestry conferences and events.
From interactive workshops and curriculum-aligned resource previews to hands-on ForestVR™ demos and fresh ideas for integrating sustainability into the classroom — there’s something for every teacher.
Whether you’re teaching science, geography, or design and technologies, we’d love to meet you and share how our free classroom tools can help make teaching easier and even more engaging.
Where You’ll Find Us in 2025
19–20 May | Canberra
Join us for a lightning talk and explore our stand! We’ll showcase how real-world learning about sustainable forests and wood products can enhance teaching across STEM, Geography and Technologies — from ForestVR™ virtual excursions to our Industry Champions careers resources.
19–20 June | Brisbane
We’re returning with a trade stand and have submitted a workshop proposal, currently pending approval. If accepted, we’ll be co-presenting with Tom Clapson, Stewardship and Environment Manager at HQPlantations, to launch two new Years 7–10 units featuring authentic design challenges — a sustainable timber phone stand and a biodiversity-supporting nesting box. These projects bring real-world context, creativity, and sustainability into the Technologies classroom. Watch this space for confirmation!
Sydney STEM Teacher Festival (pending confirmation)
10 June | Sydney
Part of NSW EdTECH Week and EduTECH, this event is a great opportunity to explore ForestVR™ and the Forest Science Explorers unit (developed with ASTA), and to see how immersive technology and sustainability themes can support science, technology, and engineering learning outcomes. Watch this space for confirmation!
CONASTA 72 (ASTA National Science Conference)
7–10 July | Perth
We’re returning to CONASTA72 with a trade stand and a hands-on workshop co-presented with VRTY. Join us and register for IJ3: Future-Ready Science: Empowering Classrooms with VR and Scaffolded Learning, running Thursday 10 July, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM (AWST). Walk away with tools you can use straight away.
21–23 October | Adelaide (Workshop pending approval)
We’ve submitted a workshop proposal showcasing ForestLearning’s Industry Education Champions model, co-presented with Senior Geography Teacher, Paul McCartan (Ryde Secondary College), and partners from Responsible Wood, Jamax Forest Solutions, and the North-East NSW Forestry Hub. The session will explore how real-world industry and school partnerships are helping students connect with sustainability, forests, and future careers — through ForestVR™, classroom visits, and hands-on inquiry learning.
