Hurfords Hardwood Brings Sustainable Forests to Life at the Lismore Show

Over 20,000 visitors and students from across the Northern Rivers region explored the renewable journey of Australian hardwoods at this year’s Lismore Show with Hurfords Hardwood using ForestVR™ headsets, available through ForestLearning’s free national loan kit program.
Across the Thursday and Friday school days, Hurfords hosted interactive talks and workshops for regional schools, giving students the chance to step inside native forests and learn how sustainably managed forestry provides renewable timber for Australian homes and communities.
The hands-on displays, combined with ForestVR™ experiences and classroom resources, sparked curiosity about sustainability and timber careers — showcasing how education and industry partnerships can inspire the next generation of forest professionals.
