Primary Industries Education Foundation – “Food and Fibre – the original STEM” national conference – Canberra, 29 April-1 May 2018
The Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia (PIEFA) is once again hosting a world class event that will draw together national and international leaders in Food and Fibre Education. Held every two years, the conference explores innovative approaches to primary industries education from the perspectives of teachers and academics, industry representatives, State and Federal policy makers and researchers.
The 2018 conference will be exploring the theme ‘Food Fibre - the original STEM’. The teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) is the focus of educational policy at present and seen as the key to Australia s future economic prosperity.

Join with ForestLearning offsite to the National Arboretum where ForestLearning, ANU, World Forestry Center, VicForests and the Forest Education Foundation will showcase hands on interactive activities for your classroom! See a live drone in action that is used by the ANU to monitor forest growth at the Arboretum and hear from the research scientists as to why, how and why they use them!
The Conference will include stand out national and international keynote speakers, workshops, lightning presentations, a trade area and networking events. These all combine to provide delegates with a deep understanding of what’s working and why, as well as a large dose of inspiration and networking.
